In my healthy journey I have done almost every diet there is; Weight Watchers, Optifast, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystems, Lindora just to name a few. My style of healthy eating has also evolved from reading Fit For Life by the Diamonds and giving up eating chicken on the spot to reading Beyond Beef and never having a Burger King pass my lips again. Over a couple of years I went from not eating chicken to being vegan. In the last couple of years, I have explored Raw Foods and did a 60 Day Juice Only Fast. Part of my up and down challenge I feel is I always had to following some prescribed plan.
What I have come to realize is the only plan I need to follow is “Healthy Eating.” And not being 100% rigid on what that means. I don’t have to follow a plan. I can juice one day, have a green smoothie for breakfast the next and then a complete raw dinner the next day. As long as it is Healthy Eating, I can mix it up. I have just decided to eat healthy, not focus on a DIET and not be ruled by the scale. What a concept.
I have recently decided I will not be buying Stevia again, nor any kind of processed oil. That being said, I am using up what I have on hand. Not saying anyone else needs to do this. I am working on getting rid of processed food in my diet.
If I were to say I favor a particular school of thought it would be Dr Fuhrman’s Eat to Live program. Love the concept, love the foods, great recipes and know I can eat that way for the rest of my life. What is your plan for healthy eating?
