Choosing Gratitude over Resentment

This morning I slept an hour later than I meant to. When I realized what time it was, the 1st thing which came into my mind was I will skip my walk. It will be OK since it’s not a C25K Day and ONLY a walk day. Each day I add a minute until I get to 60 minutes walking and thought about how long I’ve been at 27 minutes. Have been skipping walk days a bit too

Franklin Covey -The 5 Choices, Getting Things Done, The 1 Thing, Couch to 5K and Getting Organized

Spent most of the weekend in my Team Beachbody Franklin Covey training on The 5 Choices and it reminded me of why continual personal development is so critical to our success. When I discovered The 1 Thing concept, I made a number of changes in my life which have almost become habit. Studying the 5 Choices reminded me how reaching success involves more than just doing the 3 most important things first each day. There needs

Overcoming Doubt

This morning was the first day of Week 4 in my C25K Program. Definitely more running than walking now. And this morning for the 1st time I felt a tiny bit of hesitation in me. For a second even thought about putting it off for later today and then caught myself and got my running shoes on and headed out. The statement you never regret a work out you do, only those you don’t, is ringing in my ears right now.

Golf T’s, Couch to 5K and the Best Moment of the Day…

Week 3, Day 3 of Couch to 5K completed this morning and the program has now crossed a threshold where the minutes spent jogging will be more than the minutes spent walking and I’m excited about that. The 1st time through the program I was terrified wondering if I could do it. Now I know I can because I did it before. I’m expecting it to be a bit more difficult since I am 2 years older and heavier than last

Have been in a bit of a funk lately and managed to skip my walking day yesterday. Since it was not a Couch to 5K Day I rationalized it was OK. So OK, that I felt crummy all day for letting myself down. I could not wait to get out there this morning and do W3D2 and get back in my rhythm. No matter how slow or inefficient I am doing it, I feel accomplished when I am done. Sitting

Whenever Never Comes, Couch to 5K, Dr. Fuhrman 1st Official Cookbook

Whenever never comes unless you put it into your calendar. Listening to a great interview about working at home and the interviewee was a woman who coaches on organization and professional efficiency. She said when she first started working at home, she just figured she would do her workouts whenever. What she realized is whenever never came and other things just filled in the time. Really spoke to me as I began Week 3 of Couch to 5K. I know me well enough

Where I used to totally exempt myself from working out on the weekends, now I actually almost look forward to it. After just 1 weekend the new tradition is Kevin goes with me on Saturday and Sundays. He even asked first last night, do you want to go walking in the morning? Yeah. Up to 26 minutes today, 27 minutes tomorrow and Monday is Week 3 Day 1 of Couch to 5 K where the run intervals are

Lessons From My Garden

Strawberry Fields Forever- not. This was the only 1 ripe when I got home from my run and just picked it and ate it. For the 1st time we are also growing cantaloupes and watermelon. I continue to marvel on much I love growing a garden. For an inpatient, instant gratification girl it’s a good lesson in learning patience and watching things evolve in their natural time frame. A lot like life, which I am constantly pushing to

Have a bit of a dilemma judgement wise and looking for your thoughts. In preparation for traveling the country in our RV, we have lots and lots of stuff to get rid of. Not only a house with every inch crammed full, a giant walk in closet at mom’s house full of clothes and 1 jammed 10 x 10 storage unit (down from3 which I think is a win.) In other words, lots of stuff. And because I am a staunch

9 Days and Counting, Mini-Meltdown

Today marked 9 days in a row working out which I’m pretty sure is a lifetime record for me. No matter how consistent I have been, the weekends have been left out for some reason. The 1st Team Beachbody Program I ever completed long ago was Kathy Smith, Project You, Type 2 and was 90 days long. Kevin and I both did the whole program from beginning to end and even that was only 6 days a week. I have completely embraced
